3,000 patients annually by Year 2

Direct beneficiaries in the first year of operation (2027) are patients from the Angondje district and surrounding peri- urban areas of Libreville's Akanda peri-urban community, including low-income families, women of reproductive age, children under 15, and working adults with no meaningful access to affordable primary care facility within walking/short-commute distance.

Why This Project?

The Grace Polyclinic

The Problem and Need

Despite Gabon's upper-middle-income status, healthcare access remains deeply unequal, with peri-urban districts like Angondje left functionally disconnected from affordable care due to a hospital-centered health system with limited primary care reach. High out-of-pocket health costs — among the highest in the region — push families into poverty or force them to forgo care entirely, compounding a heavy burden of tuberculosis, HIV, oral disease, and avoidable vision impairment. This is worsened by a severe shortage of healthcare workers, leaving communities like Angondje without a primary care facility within walking distance.

Our Solution

Establish Grace Polyclinic; a self-sustaining, community- governed primary healthcare facility that permanently reduces the financial burden of healthcare on the residents of Angondje and surrounding peri-urban communities of Libreville, serving a minimum of 3,000 patients annually by Year 2.

Project Goal

Finalize the polyclinic setup by the end of 2026 and serve a minimum of 3,000 patients annually by Year 2.
